Gary Allen is President and Chief Operating Officer of VDB Asset Management, a multifamily investment firm headquartered in Dallas and Chicago with operations spanning major markets across the United States. Based in Dallas, Texas, Gary leads the firm's day-to-day operations, investment strategy and platform growth for its multifamily real estate portfolio, applying artificial intelligence to sourcing, underwriting and investor reporting workflows.
Experience and background
Gary brings more than 40 years of real estate investment experience focused on value creation through strategic planning, operational execution and technology-driven innovation. He is a founding member of Real Capital Advisors and also founded Real Capital Markets (RCM1), one of the commercial real estate industry's first digital transaction platforms for institutional real estate, facilitating transactions totaling more than $500 billion during his tenure.
He holds a BBA in Finance and Real Estate from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business and is a licensed Texas Commercial Real Estate Broker. At VDB Asset Management, Gary works alongside David Vandenburg, CEO and Chief Investment Officer, and Wayne Vandenburg, Chairman, across the firm's multifamily portfolio.
