David Vandenburg

CEO & Chief Investment Officer

As CEO and Chief Investment Officer, David leads the firm's market and property investment strategies and the company's multifamily acquisition and disposition activity. Under his direction, the various partnerships have acquired over 30,000 multifamily units. He has served as general partner or managing member for more than forty real estate investment partnerships involving over 50 multifamily properties. Principal shareholder of VDB Groupe; BBA in Finance and Real Estate from Southern Methodist University (1991). Headquartered in Chicago since 1991.

Wayne Vandenburg

Chairman · Director Capital Markets & Investor Relations

Mr. Vandenburg launched his real estate career in 1978 and has since earned a distinguished reputation as a principal, manager, investor, developer and innovator. As Chairman of VDB Groupe and an original founding partner, he leads strategic planning, structures and negotiates alliances with institutional partners and cultivates new venture relationships across the United States and internationally. Mr. Vandenburg attended the University of New Mexico (UNM) and later served on the athletic staffs of both UNM and UTEP. His past board service includes NMHC, ULI's Multifamily Blue Council, MBAA, PREA, the Real Estate Roundtable and the Board of Directors Emeritus of the USA Track and Field Foundation.

Gary Allen

President & Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Allen brings more than 40 years of real estate investment experience focused on value creation through strategic planning, operational execution and technology-driven innovation. As President and Chief Operating Officer, he oversees firm operations, investment strategy and platform growth, and applies artificial intelligence to sourcing, underwriting and reporting workflows. He is a founding member of Real Capital Advisors and also founded Real Capital Markets (RCM1), one of the industry's first digital transaction platforms for institutional real estate, facilitating transactions totaling over $500 billion during his tenure. Mr. Allen holds a BBA in Finance and Real Estate from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business and is a licensed Texas Commercial Real Estate Broker.

Nita Stewart

Transactions Manager

Ms. Stewart brings more than 30 years of multifamily investment sales experience, specializing in marketing strategy, transaction execution and negotiations. She has participated in the disposition of more than $25 billion of multifamily assets across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and secondary markets throughout Texas. Ms. Stewart served as Senior Vice President with CBRE from 1999 to 2025. She holds a BBA from The University of Texas at Arlington and has been a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker since 1989.

Luigi ("Lou") Pereira

Tax Counsel & Compliance

Responsible for all tax and compliance matters for VDB Groupe, VDB Asset Management and affiliates. Over 40 years of real estate accounting and taxation experience, advising the Vandenburg family for more than four decades. 27-year partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers; BBA, University of Notre Dame; member of the AICPA and the Texas Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Gaurav Jain

Analysis & Underwriting

Mr. Jain joined VDB Asset Management in 2021 and brings institutional experience in financial analysis, underwriting and multifamily acquisitions. He began his real estate career with Luniya Realty before joining Derive Capital Advisors. Mr. Jain holds a bachelor's degree in Financial Markets from the University of Mumbai, an MBA in Finance from California Lutheran University and completed an internship with the Royal Bank of Scotland in Mumbai.

Vivian Sze

Treasury & Accounting

Ms. Sze holds an accounting degree from the University of Illinois Chicago and has been with the platform for more than 15 years. She oversees corporate capital transactions, corporate accounting, tax compliance, risk management and portfolio oversight.

Miles Pakaki

IT Manager

Miles oversees hardware, software, cybersecurity and vendor management, while also driving the adoption of various commercial real estate software applications to streamline property operations, asset management and finance. Retired U.S. Navy veteran and native of Hawaii, he has been with the group for over 20 years.

Efraim "Efi" Zazo

Country Manager, United Kingdom

Efraim Zazo, Country Manager | United Kingdom, is responsible for coordinating VDB's initiatives in the United Kingdom. Mr. Zazo possesses significant experience across all property sectors with great knowledge of the UK's housing policy. Mr Zazo, who initially began his career with the Rotch Property Group in London, additionally serves as the Chairman of London headquartered Beechwood Capital.

Glen Weisberg

Senior Advisor Asset Management

Mr. Weisberg brings more than 30 years of institutional multifamily investment experience spanning acquisitions, asset management, capital markets and investor relations. He most recently served as EVP, Multifamily Investments at American Realty Advisors, overseeing a 40-asset, $2.0 billion portfolio, and previously as EVP and COO of Hunt Investment Management, where he managed $4.0 billion in AUM across 24,000 units. Glen co-founded The Tuckerman Group in 1998, growing the State Street Global Advisors subsidiary to $2.0 billion in private equity AUM before orchestrating its sale to Hunt in 2012. Glen has maintained a working relationship with the VDB principals since 2012, stemming from his role as co-founder of Tuckerman, which invested in several multifamily assets owned by VDB's principals. He holds an MBA in Real Estate Finance from Columbia University and a BS from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration.

Mohammed Altawash

Senior Advisor Gulf States

Formerly in a senior management position with the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, Mr. Altawash brings deep institutional capital markets experience and a global investment perspective spanning the Gulf, Europe and the United States. He advises VDB on sovereign and institutional capital relationships and cross-border investment strategy.
